St. Andrews, Scotland

St. Andrews, Scotland

St. Andrews is a small Scottish seaside town with a ruined cathedral and a ruined castle.  Describing itself as the ‘home of golf’, it also has lots of golf courses.   The town also contains, strange though it might seem, a university: founded in 1413, it’s the third oldest in the UK, the first in Scotland, and now one of the UK’s most prestigious!

KE have been running academic summer programmes in St. Andrews for four years now.  And the strange thing is: although you might think that not everyone would enjoy being in a little town with a chilly wind blowing most of the time, in fact everyone seems to love it!  Maybe staying in our own Scottish castle helps…  And games on the beach on evenings when it hardly ever gets dark…
